Building
The municipal building department has the responsibility to review, process, issue, and inspect construction permit applications for every building or structure in the community.

Township Clerk
The Municipal Clerk has responsibilities required by New Jersey State Statues which include acting as the Secretary to the Governing Body, Custodian of Records, administering local elections and issuing licenses and permits. Residents may seek guidance from the Clerk’s Office for various services.

The Department of Public Works is responsible for maintenance of all municipal roads, including storm sewers, curbing, potholes, paving, snow plowing and salting.

Recreation
The Berkeley Heights Recreation Department and Commission partners with Berkeley Heights Youth Soccer Club (BHYSC) and the Police Athletic League (PAL) to offer more sport programs.

Tax Assessor
It is the duty of the Assessor's Office to uniformly value all properties in Berkeley Heights, so that all taxpayers pay their fair share of the obligations of the schools, the County and the municipality.

The Tax Collector's office collects taxes and sewer charges and enforces timely payments, delivers delinquency notices, calculates interest on delinquencies and holds tax sales.

The Township's Department of Wastewater Treatment consists of Water Pollution Control Plant, 6 pumping stations, sewer mains and collection facilities.
