BERKELEY HEIGHTS POLICE DEPARTMENT
The Berkeley heights Police Department is now accepting applications for the position of:
FULL-TIME POLICE OFFICER
Applicants must possess a current New Jersey Police Training Commission certification or be currently enrolled at an accredited police academy and possess 60 college credits, an Associate’s Degree, Bachelor’s Degree, or 4-years of military service.
Applicants must be eligible as per Berkeley Heights ordinance 2.100.040 Qualifications for Appointment
2022 Berkeley Heights Police Officer Compensation Package:
Probationary patrol officer (first year) - $53,152.00
Contractual time off and full benefits
BEGINS: April 1, 2022 at 9:00 am
ENDS: May 1, 2022 at 4:00 pm

Candidates who successfully pass the application phase will be subject to oral interviews. Applicants passing the oral interview phase will be subject to a thorough police background check, which will include criminal history, motor vehicle history, previous employment history and interviews of both personal and professional references. Candidates given a conditional offer of employment will be required to pass a medical examination, psychological evaluation, physical fitness assessment and drug screening.
