2023 Schedule for Residential Cleanup

The 2023 Residential Cleanup Program will be returning this year. All acceptable materials must be placed at the curb before 7 a.m. on the first clean up day scheduled for a section.

IN CASE YOU SEE THE BULK PICKUP TRUCKS IN YOUR SECTION OF TOWN EARLIER THAN SCHEDULED, PLEASE DON'T WORRY. THEY WILL BE IN THE SCHEDULED SECTIONS ON THE SCHEDULED DAYS; ANY DAYS THEY SHOW UP ARE IN ADDITION TO. If time allows, they try to get an early start on sections.

Please adhere to the following schedule; we ask that, if possible, your materials are NOT left at the curbside until the appropriate date. 

Section 1- Monday, May 1 & Tuesday, May 2 

Section 5- Thursday, May 4 & Friday, May 5

Section 4- Monday, May 8 & Tuesday, May 9

Section 3- Thursday, May 11 & Friday, May 12

Section 2 - Monday, May 15 & Tuesday, May 16

Covering Streets

The contractor will cover each street only once

Therefore, it is very important that materials for pick up are at the curb for collection on the first day for each section. Small, loose items will be picked up only if suitably placed in a wood, metal, or other substantial container and the weight of the container and contents do not exceed 50 pounds.

Containers & Debris

All containers with debris in them will be picked up and disposed of unless clearly marked "Return Container."

Safety Precautions

By state law, doors on cabinets, appliances, and refrigerators must be removed as a safety precaution. Boards, swings, monkey bars and similar items must be dismantled and cut to maximum of 4 feet in length. 

Equipment with or containers of the following should NOT be put out for collection:

  • Acids
  • Alkalis
  • Gasoline
  • Lacquer
  • Solvents
  • etc.

Unauthorized Scavenging or Scattering

Please report any unauthorized scavenging or scattering of debris to the Police Department at 908- 464-1111. Please report to the Police Department any unauthorized dropping off of material.

  • Fence (cut to 4 feet)
  • Fence post (cut, only wood)

  • Mattresses
  • Paneling (cut to 4 feet or less)
  • Refrigerators 
  • Rugs
  • Screens
  • Sinks
  • Storm Doors
  • Storm Windows
  • Stoves
  • Toilets
  • Toys
  • TV
  • Wire Fence (rolled)

Materials Not Picked Up

  • Ashes
  • Auto Parts
  • Branches/yard and garden debris
  • Complete Window Unit
  • Concrete Blocks
  • Concrete/rock
  • Deck wood
  • Garbage
  • Grass
  • Magazines
  • Materials from Additions
  • Materials from Alterations
  • Materials from business/industry
  • Newspapers
  • Paint
  • Propane Tanks
  • Roofing shingles
  • Sheet Rock in large quantities 
  • Solvents/lacquer/acid or their containers
  • Stone/dirt
  • Stumps
