Fall Road Projects Update

Road Project Update

Plainfield Ave (b/t Lincoln and Washington)

  • Paving and drainage; adding some new pipe and basins on Plainfield to comply with NJDEP requirements
  • Contract was awarded to Cifelli & Son on September 22.  A preconstruction meeting is scheduled  for Thursday, October 8.  Preliminary discussions with the contractor indicate potential start of construction to be on or about October 19.


Train Station Parking Lot

  • Paving
  • Contract was awarded to Smith-Sondy  on September 22.  A preconstruction meeting is scheduled  for Thursday, October 8.  Preliminary discussions with the contractor indicate potential start of construction to be on or about October 26.

 

NJDOT FY20 Road Program (Ferndale Drive, Greenbrier Drive, Hastings Road, Fawn Circle)

  • Paving, updating drainage basins to comply with NJDEP requirements; adding underdrains where needed
  • As this is a NJDOT grant, project plans and specifications need to be reviewed and approved by said Department.  
  • Project is set for public advertisement on October 9, with a bid receipt date of October 22.  
  • Mayor and Council to take action at the October 27 meeting relative to contractor award.

 

Cottage Street (full length)

  • Paving, updating drainage basins to comply with NJDEP requirements; adding underdrains where needed
  • Project is set for public advertisement on October 9, with a bid receipt date of October 22.  
  • Mayor and Council to take action at the October 27 meeting relative to contractor award.

 

Fairfax Drive, Tudor Lane, Windsor Way

  • Paving, drainage and sidewalks
  • Project is surveyed and design is ongoing.
  • With new drainage proposed for Fairfax Drive, the paving work will have to take place in the Spring of 2021.  This will allow for adequate time (approximately 3 months) to avoid any settlement issues with the trenches and new paving conditions.
  • Township seeking 0% to low-interest financing from the New Jersey Transportation Infrastructure Bank for this large-scale project, to save the Township money; application review from NJTIB is January 2021
