Shop, Dine & Support Local - Holidays and Everyday!

Shop Local - Support BH Businesses

Shop, Dine and Support Local

Please shop local this holiday season and support the locally owned and operated small businesses right here in Berkeley Heights.  Small businesses are the backbone of the local economy and provide character to our community.   People are quick to mourn local shops when they close - so we are asking everyone to help make sure that doesn't happen; please make a special effort to support our local economy now - shop, dine and do your business locally whenever possible!

Benefits of patronizing local businesses:

  • Find unique products and services
  • Get personalized, attentive service in an uncrowded environment
  • Support local business that improves the quality of life in Berkeley Heights, hires employees, and contributes to local causes.

DirectoryDBCBHBDExperienceBH.com - Local Brick & Mortar Directory

Information about every local business with a brick-and-mortar location in Berkeley Heights can be found on the newly launched ExperienceBH website.  Created by the Downtown Beautification Committee (DBC), the directory - originally created to support Restaurant Week and other DBC initiatives -  helps raise awareness of many of our excellent local businesses, which is especially critical during the holidays and given the hardships of this pandemic. Look there for the address, phone number, and website link.  Try the category search too - there are 14 categories of businesses.

Brick-and-mortar businesses located in Berkeley Heights that wish to be added to the directory or have corrections to the directory can contact the DBC at dbc@bhtwp.com.

Special Offers for the Holidays

TAPinto Berkeley Heights and Buy Local NJ checked in with our local businesses to spread some Holiday Cheer! They joined forces to create this awesome Berkeley Heights Holiday Video from their participating businesses and hear what these businesses love about Berkeley Heights and how long they have been in business. They also have some holiday offers for you.

BH Cares

BH Cares logoThe Berkeley Heights Business and Civic in partnership with TAPinto Berkeley Heights launched a strategy for making customers feel safer as they venture out to Berkeley Heights businesses during the COVID pandemic.

The Berkeley Heights Cares campaign provides business owners the opportunity to show they agree to stick with the latest health guidelines.  Those include daily temperature checks for workers and sending them home if they are sick, wearing face masks on the job, stepped up hand-washing and sanitizing of commonly touched surfaces.

BH Cares - Take the Pledge

Residents (including students!) are encouraged to "Take the Pledge" .  The Pledge was created through a partnership between Berkeley Heights Business & Civic and TAPinto Berkeley Heights, along with sponsorship from local businesses.  Signing the Pledge shows you care about the safety of our community and that you are doing your part to keep our local businesses open during this pandemic.  By "taking the pledge", you agree to:

  • wear your face covering around town,
  • use social distancing when necessary, and
  • wash or sanitize your hands often.

In return for signing the "BH Cares Pledge", local businesses have rallied in an effort to say "Thank You".  Each week 5 residents will be randomly selected from the "I signed the Pledge" list to receive some "BH Swag" including gift cards to local restaurants and stores, merchandise, valuable prizes and more.

Students have two ways to get acknowledged:

  • Take the Pledge, and/or
  • Get "caught in the act" of wearing their face covering - by our very own BHPD.  The BHPD has partnered with BH Cares to randomly hand out $10 gift cards each week to local students who are wearing their face coverings while in town or at Snyder Park.
