Preview of January 4th 2023 Town Council Reorganization Meeting Agenda by Council President Jeanne Kingsley

Want to know what is being discussed by the Town Council at its next meeting?

The next Township Council meeting will be held on WEDNESDAY JANUARY 4th  at 5:30 pm in the Berkeley Room at the Municipal Complex, 29 Park Ave.  Members of Council, Mayor Devanney, and Administration staff will be participating in person for this meeting.   For this and all future meetings, members of the public who are not able to attend the meeting in person will be able to comment by email to or by writing letter to Township Clerk, 29 Park Ave, Berkeley Heights NJ 07922.  Comments must be received by the Township Clerk by 4:00 PM on the date of the meeting.   The meeting ID for attending the meeting via Zoom is; please note that residents will be able to watch the meeting via Zoom but to ask questions, must attend in person or send questions in writing ahead of time following the above-mentioned procedures.

The first items on the agenda is an Invocation by Father Merino from the Church of the Little Flower.

This will be followed by the Administration of Oath of Office of:

  • Mayor Angie Devanney
  • Councilman Manny Couto
  • Councilwoman Susan Poage

The Council will then hold nominations for Council President and Council Vice President for the 2023 Township Council.

The Council will vote on:

  • A series of administrative resolutions (number 1 through 58) to appoint and or consent to the appointment of various professionals and employees including the Administrator, various professionals that serve the township, various Council members and volunteers to serve on committees, and to award service contracts to various firms for the Waste Water Treatment Plant. 
  • A resolution authorizing a Settlement Agreement with NJDEP for the Wastewater Treatment Plant in the amount of $46,000.

The meeting will be closed by a Benediction by Father Merino.
