The Mayor & Township Council will hold a formal adoption meeting on Tuesday, May 23 at 7 pm in the Berkeley Room at the Municipal Complex, 29 Park Ave. Members of Council, Mayor Devanney, Administration staff and the Township's finance firm will be participating in person for this meeting. Members of the public who are not able to attend the meeting in person will be able to comment by email to email@example.com or by writing letter to Township Clerk, 29 Park Ave, Berkeley Heights NJ 07922. Comments must be received by the Township Clerk by 4:00 PM on the date of the meeting. The meeting ID for attending the meeting via Zoom is http://zoom.us/s/3575747364 (if you need to enter the meeting ID, it is: 357-574-7364); please note that residents will be able to watch the meeting via Zoom but to ask questions, must attend in person or send questions in writing ahead of time following the above-mentioned procedures.
The budget was introduced on April 24, 2023. A public budget workshop was held on March 27, 2023. Representatives from Holman, Frenia, Allison, P.C. - the Township's CFO and finance firm - gave budget presentations offering residents an overview of current expenditures and revenues, large-scale capital projects being funded through various funding mechanisms, and a broad financial outlook for the Township. On Tuesday, May 9, the Township's financial planner from NW Financial will give Mayor & Council and residents a public presentation on the Township's debt outlook, given past debt the town is currently trying to pay off, and new debt being added, most of which is related to the sewer modernization project the Township is embarking on.
